Kaituitui (Community Development Worker)
Tēnā koutou katoa,
We are seeking an activist, community worker and leader to bring our service and our communities closer together, and to challenge the status quo – both within our workplace and, crucially, on the ground.
Community Law Wellington and Hutt Valley (CLWHV) continues to build our regional community legal service for Māori. Our service strives to achieve tikanga Māori solutions. We see legal needs in the context of an individual and community’s local, personal, social, spiritual and cultural needs. Our legal service aims to dramatically improve the everyday lives of individuals, whānau, hapū and iwi. We dream of a community that looks radically different – a place where Tiriti o Waitangi relationships are practised in every street, every school and every workplace, every day.
Working with a team across two offices (in Te Awa Kairangi and Te Whanganui-a-Tara), and providing outreach to Porirua, this position provides an opportunity for someone with vision and drive to create real, meaningful change in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Community Law strives to provide an exceptional, progressive work environment where flexibility and accountability are two sides of the same coin. He kai kei aku ringa.
