Advice Sessions for Women

At these sessions, Community Law provides free, confidential legal advice to women, and to non-binary people who are comfortable in a place focused on the experiences of women. Our services are expressly trans-friendly – all women are welcome at this clinic.

Our other sessions are open to people of all genders, but at the advice sessions for women you will be seen by a woman lawyer and greeted by women or non-binary staff.

Like all of our sessions, our Women’s sessions are whānau-friendly, and you are welcome to bring your children. We have whānau rooms with toys, books, and colouring, as well as comfortable places to breastfeed and change nappies.

We can also provide ongoing Visa assistance to migrant women whose relationships have ended due to domestic violence.

If you are in an unsafe relationship or home situation, please do not hesitate to call us on 04 499 2928 and ask for urgent help outside of these session times. We can work with you to ensure your safety is upheld while you access our services. All of our services are totally private and confidential, and we are here to support you.
